FA Cup betting is already happening. Lower league and non-league clubs have started their cup odyssey and so FA Cup bets are now being accepted. There are so many matches in the competition that it is possible to place FA Cup bets on any of the games, not just on the eventual outright winner. For every match there are lots of chances to bet on many different aspects of the game, making it a particularly thrilling opportunity.
The third round of the FA Cup usually starts just after Christmas and this is when the Premier League and Championship teams get involved. This also raises the chances of 'giant killing', when lower league clubs get the opportunity to beat those in higher leagues.
In terms of betting on the overall winner, it is no surprise that Premier League clubs have the shortest of FA Cup odds, while the lower-level clubs are a bit of a long shot. Having said that, when lower-league clubs, particularly Championship clubs, play Premier League opposition there are always some shock results. There is no reason to think that this year's FA Cup will be any different.
